It was a beautiful and sunny October afternoon.  Eighty degrees was a hot reminder of the middle of Summer.  The trees were still green, shorts and tank tops could be worn and the sun made its presence known everywhere.  People were out, enjoying the day.  The sailboats filled the Hudson river and the Bayonne cruise ship made its way out of the port.
